My name is Daniela Caine, I offer freelance design services under the name TheGestalter.

I work with industry experts that dare to go against the grain in order to create awesome apparel their customers love and come back to over and over again.

I have been working for the Sport and Outdoor Industry internationally for 15 years and held design management and design leadership positions in three global apparel companies: Adidas, Nike and Columbia Sportswear. In those positions I gained experience in technical outerwear, performance apparel as well as lifestyle product.  I designed men’s, women’s and kids apparel and created successful product for snowboarding, alpine skiing, golf, hiking, yoga, soccer, road cycling, licensed apparel, team sport, the gym and the couch.

As freelance designer, your financial success is my goal. I love to assist established brands build upon their success and collaborate to help new ventures create new concepts and entire brands.

I love designing for Sport. For me, it’s truly purposeful design as it is design for experience. No matter if  I design garments for  professional athletes or the recreational runner. Weather you climb the highest mountains or find your roots on the yoga mat, it is essential that clothing enhances your performance and experience. Nothing should distract, itch, scratch or be ill-fitting. In my work, I strive for excellence: I love to fuse fashion influences with function, impeccable fit, beautiful silhouette, pinnacle trim selection and application and the best fabric selection possible.

 

Born and raised in Munich, Germany, I now live in Portland, OR, with my husband and daughter and am lucky enough to spend my free time at the coast, on the mountains, on my yoga mat or bike.
